We believe every venue deserves great software
Conciar was born in Curaçao out of a very real problem: restaurants struggling with staff shortages and desperately in need of technology that was fast to adopt and easy to use. That experience became the foundation of everything we build.
Built out of frustration with the status quo
In 2025, Shu Chen was working closely with restaurant owners in Curaçao who were facing a crisis: severe staff shortages and no practical tools to compensate. Every existing platform was either too complex, too expensive, or too slow to get up and running. Operators — already stretched thin — had no time for lengthy onboarding or consultant-led rollouts.
Shu set out to build the opposite: software so easy and fast to adopt that a restaurant owner could be up and running in an afternoon, without any technical background. Conciar launched as a lean operations and booking platform designed specifically for short-staffed hospitality businesses.
The demand quickly spread beyond restaurants. Hotels, retailers, wellness studios, and rental companies in Curaçao and the wider Caribbean started asking for the same thing. As the platform matured, Conciar expanded into the Netherlands and the broader European market. Today, Conciar serves businesses across multiple industries and countries — but the core promise is unchanged: technology that works for operators, not against them.
Remove operational complexity from every venue
We build software that lets operators focus on their guests, their craft, and their team — not on spreadsheets, missed bookings, or disconnected tools. Every feature we ship is measured by one question: does this make a real operator's day measurably better?
The operating layer for Europe's hospitality economy
We believe the next decade will see a wave of hospitality and retail businesses embrace modern software infrastructure. Conciar aims to be the platform they build on — from a first booking to a hundred locations.
Shu Chen is the founder and CEO of Conciar. In 2025, while working directly with restaurant owners in Curaçao, Shu encountered a problem that was impossible to ignore: operators were severely short-staffed and in desperate need of technology that was fast to set up and easy enough for anyone on the team to use from day one.
Every existing solution fell short — either too heavy, too expensive, or designed for large chains with dedicated IT teams. Shu built Conciar to fill that gap: lean, fast to onboard, and genuinely useful for a small team under pressure. What started as a tool for Curaçao restaurants quickly expanded to hotels, retailers, studios, and rental businesses, first across the island and then into the Netherlands and broader Europe.
Today, Conciar is headquartered in Rotterdam and serves businesses in multiple industries across Europe and the Caribbean. Outside of work, Shu is a food enthusiast, a keen traveller between Curaçao and Europe, and a regular visitor to the venues Conciar serves.
"I started Conciar after spending time with restaurant owners in Curaçao who were short-staffed and desperate for help. They didn't need another complex platform — they needed something they could switch on today and have working tomorrow. That's what we built."
